Gia Lai Attracts Nearly 165,000 Billion VND in Investment Capital After the First Six Months of 2026

In just the first six months of 2026, Gia Lai province attracted 165 investment projects with a total registered capital of over 164,748 billion VND, reaching approximately 97% of the annual plan. This result shows that the locality's investment attractiveness continues to increase strongly, especially in the renewable energy sector.

According to the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Finance, in the week from June 18-25, the locality attracted an additional 4 investment projects outside economic zones and industrial parks with a total registered capital of over 1,613 billion VND. The majority are renewable energy projects, including the Kanak Floating Solar Power Plant, the Plei Tho Ga 2 Floating Solar Power Plant combined with a battery storage system, and the Ha Tay Hydropower Floating Solar Power Plant. In addition, the province also licensed a plastic and synthetic rubber production project with a total capital of nearly 15 billion VND.

In parallel with attracting new projects, Gia Lai adjusted the investment policy for 6 ongoing projects, thereby adding more than 6,192 billion VND in investment capital. Cumulatively from the beginning of the year, the province has attracted 165 projects with a total registered capital of over 164,748 billion VND, nearly completing the target of 170 projects in 2026. Compared to the same period last year, the number of projects increased by 142.65%, while the total registered capital increased by 221.19%. In terms of investment structure, the industrial sector continues to lead with 81 projects, totaling over VND 139,629 billion. The remaining projects belong to the fields of construction and infrastructure, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, trade, services and tourism, real estate, information technology and logistics.

Regarding capital sources, Gia Lai attracted 163 domestic investment projects with a total capital of over VND 164,433 billion and 2 FDI projects with a total capital of approximately VND 315.85 billion (equivalent to USD 12.1 million). In addition, the province's investment and business environment continues to improve. From the beginning of the year to June 24th, Gia Lai province granted registration certificates to 1,971 new businesses with a total registered capital of VND 28,663 billion, an increase of approximately 40% in the number of businesses and 151% in registered capital compared to the same period in 2015, reflecting the growing confidence of the business community in the local investment environment.
